At the beginning of January 2026, I took up streaming on Twitch. This is something I’d considered pursuing for many years, but held back from. “It’s too expensive,” I worried. And, “What if nobody likes my content? What if I have a ton of haters in my chat?” Silly. Thus far, my Twitch journey has been a thrilling one. I’ve given myself a space to play and discuss games the way I like. And, as it turns out, there’s an audience for that!
My goals as a streamer are to provide my insights as a narrative designer. An industry professional working at Larian once shared that it was her online presence and involvement in the gaming community that caught Larian’s attention. This is my version of that, I suppose. On my channel, I play and discuss narrative-driven games. How I experience the story as a writer, how I connect the ludonarrative elements, and sometimes I offer different approaches I may have taken. Being an academic as much as I am a creative, I’ve found that I have lots to say—and it’s been a real treat having my thoughts captured on camera.
The added bonus of streaming “let’s plays” is that I get to make video games a little more accessible. There are many barriers to the gaming world that sometimes we don’t consider—time, finances, hardware, and skill, just to name a few. If I can create a space for people to experience interactive media they otherwise might have missed, then I am glad to do it.
My channel. I think this will show playback here when I’m live, but don’t quote me on that.
