The first thing you might like to know is my name. And also, perhaps, why it’s different depending on the medium i’m working in. Here’s the breakdown:

For professional and academic works. Formal and published. Kinda stuffy.

aurea:

For video game-related works such as game dev, blogging, streaming, and cosplay. A pseudonym without anonymity.

In June 2025, I graduated from the University of Victoria, where I majored in writing (screenwriting specialization) and minored in Greek and Roman studies. During my undergraduate degree, I participated in rigorous workshops for screenwriting, interactive fiction, and fiction, learned and wrote about video games academically, and developed a keen interest in the way the ancient world continues to be represented in modern media.

As a writer, my ultimate goal is to work on video games. I am especially interested in novel → game adaptations. Although on the rarer side, they can bring a book to life in a way that is far more enriched and engaging than film. The interactivity and player agency video games offer push their audience to engage with the source material in an immersive manner.

My first video game console was a pink Nintendo DS Lite, which I received as a gift from my parents in 2006. As an only child, single-player games, books, and imaginative play were my main sources of entertainment, and I strongly believe that it was having these experiences early on that caused me to become the passionate storyteller I am today.

I am fortunate to have spent my entire life on the beautiful south-western coast of British Columbia, raised by supportive parents who are passionate about creativity and the outdoors. My closeness with my family, friends, and environment touch every single piece of writing I create.
